Tonio again put in a strong performance in the final free practice ahead of qualifying. He secured the ninth quickest time while Adrian was just behind in 11th.

With the track slippery and debris-laden from the earlier support races both drivers did not make their initial baseline runs until midway through the session to allow the track to clean. After runs on the harder Bridgestone Potenza tyres, Tonio then switched back to the option tyres for the final run.
