Tonio’s Monaco weekend
Tonio’s busy Monaco weekend already started on Tuesday, when he attended the F1 All Stars Soccer match in Monaco. The F1 All Star team plays several matches during the F1 season for charity and this match was set up for the benefit of AMADE (World Association of Childrens Friends), a Monaco-based association, which helps the disadvantaged children all over the world. Tonio showed up in his soccer outfit, but unfortunately he didn’t play due to an injury.
On Wednesday, Tonio had a photo-shoot with team-mates Adrian Sutil and Paul di Resta on Vijay Mallya’s new boat, called… Force India! The new boat was moored next to Vijay’s other toy, his Indian Empress yacht. I’m sure they enjoyed their views over the Monaco harbour, a few photos can be seen in our Gallery.
A day after the photo-shoot there were the usual free practice sessions and meetings with the engineers on Thursday in Monaco. On Friday, Tonio attended the Amber Fashion Show together with his fiancée Francesca. He was dressed in a casual jeans and leather outfit, including a stylish brown man purse. Check out the pictures in our Gallery (bottom).
Monaco is known for it’s rich and famous lifestyle and therefore Tonio was spotted with a ‘bling’ helmet design on Saturday during qualifying. The helmet was a combination some golden parts and (green) 100 Euro bills and (pink) 500 Euro bills, definitely a great job by Kaos Design and very stylish, Tonio!
[Update] Check out this story (in Italian) and discover how Tonio’s Monaco helmet was made by Kaos Design!
His weekend ended on Sunday with a tough 50th Grand Prix. After starting from the 10th position on the grid, he had some nice battles with his team-mate and other drivers. At lap 30 he witnessed how Rubens Barrichello hit a loose drain cover and hit the barriers right in front of him. Tonio reacted quickly and managed to avoid the spinning car and the debris at more then 200 km/h, which eventually resulted in two more points for our Italian Stallion!
