Tonio to wear special helmet for Japanese victims
Tonio will be racing with a limited edition helmet design at the Japanese Grand Prix, with it serving as a dedication to the thousands who were affected by the country’s earthquake, tsunami and subsequent nuclear disaster in March. After the Grand Prix, the helmet will be auctioned with the benefits going towards charity.
Tonio said: “For this Grand Prix I’ve wanted to pay my respects to the victims by wearing a special edition helmet named ‘Embracing Japan’, designed by Kaos Design. The helmet will later be put up for auction with the benefits going towards charity.”
Tonio already had several unique helmet designs this season during the Monaco, Spanish, European, German and Italian Grands Prix. You can find them in our Facebook gallery.
